[Effect of lithium and thiocyanate ions on the synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins inTetrahymena pyriformes GL].

Manfred Volm1, Klaus Wayss1, Viktor Schwartz2.

Abstract

A 0.01 M solution of lithium chloride inhibits whereas an equivalent solution of sodium thiocyanate increases the synthesis of DNA and RNA inTetrahymena pyriformis In our opinion the ions act during the replication of DNA and during transcription.
