Saudi Journal of Anesthesia is indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).

We are glad to inform our readers that the Saudi Journal of Anesthesia (SJA) is now indexed by Thomson Reuters' emerging sources citation index (ESCI). Beginning with V. 10 2016, this publication will be indexed and abstracted in ESCI. ESCI is a new index provided by Thomson Reuters launched in Q4 of 2015. ESCI will extend the universe, dimension, and improve the visibility of publications in the Web of Science to include high-quality, peer-reviewed publications of regional importance and in emerging scientific fields. Papers published in SJA are now searchable in the Web of Science. SJA can continue to be considered for inclusion in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIe). A journal in the new edition is searchable, discoverable, and citable; editors will get real-time insight into a journal's citation performance while the content is considered for inclusion in SCIe. We hope that the papers published in SJA will attract attention from researchers all over the world and contribute to promote the development of research in the field of anesthesia. SJA administration will make continuous efforts to be indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI). Now, our focus will be in publishing mainly those articles which we think can bring good citations because our citation metrics will be monitored by Thomson Reuters and when suitable for SCI, the journal will be upgraded and provided an impact factor.
