Abstract
Herein, we report a case of duct ectasia in an accessory breast. A 39-year-old, non-lactating Chinese female presented with a recurrent lesion in the right axillary accessory breast. Physical examination and ultrasound revealed an extensive multifocal inflammatory lesion with a size of 10 cm × 7 cm. Antibiotic therapy and a drainage procedure were unsuccessful during the past year. Because of the patient's severe recurrent lesion, we performed an accessory breast excision and then developed an additional flap to achieve primary suture and healing. The outcome was satisfactory. To our knowledge, this is the first case of duct ectasia in an accessory breast reported in China thus far and the first time that a flap technique was used in duct ectasia for complete excision, defect covering and primary healing.Entities:
