Abstract
During sequential salivary gland scintigraphy with 99mTc-pertechnetate, circumscript "cold" areas with less than background activity are sometimes seen in the region of the oral cavity. This phenomenon is due to the presence of extensive dental restorations and should not be misinterpreted in terms of deficient 99mTc-pertechnetate uptake in the minor salivary glands of the oral cavity.Entities:
