Abstract
In contrast to the only previously published description, the magnetic resonance appearance of a splenic hemangioma was markedly heterogeneous on T2-weighted images due to extensive infarction and large vascular pools. Magnetic resonance images correlated precisely with the pathological findings. The hemangioma caused thrombocytopenia, a well-documented albeit rare hematologic phenomenon associated with visceral hemangioma.Entities:
