Abstract
The stages of morphogenesis of the acrosome of Ceratitis capitata are well defined. This organelle is formed by the Golgi complex and, as it matures, takes up a position laterally in relation to the anterior region of the sperm nucleus. An interstitial membrane marks the area of contact between nucleus and acrosome in the spermatid, and is found even in mature sperm cells. The acrosome contains hydrolytic enzymes, as detected by acid phosphatase reaction.Entities:
