Closure of cystic duct stump leak by nasobiliary tube drainage.

J S Barthel1, S V Sastri, C Landsbaum.

Abstract

We report a case of symptomatic bile ascites persisting 6 weeks after cholecystectomy from a cystic stump leak. We describe the successful endoscopic treatment of post-cholecystectomy bile ascites using a nasobiliary drain and propose this method of treatment as an alternative to surgical intervention and external drainage in selected cases.
