Survival, respect and equality.

Diana Shomaker1.

Abstract

Given the fact that everyone, regardless of role or status in life, was reared in a culturally specific environment, socialised unconsciously into particular perspectives on values, attitudes and beliefs, and conducts life and plays out life's roles in a manner prescribed by that socialisation process, why is it that to act on those basic tenets is to be seen as prejudiced, racist and discriminatory?
