Abstract
The use of BALB/c mouse as an alternative model to study Haemophilus parasuis (HPS) infections was evaluated, supplying the serotyping scheme by comparing the pathogenicity of different serovar HPS in pigs and mice challenge using statistical analysis. Results showed that the pathogenicity of different serovar HPS in mouse was consistent with in pigs, proving that this model is a viable alternative to pigs. It provides a convenient methodology for determining the virulence of HPS strains.Entities:
