Abstract
Pericarditis in conjunction with nephritis is an uncommon clinical scenario with a broad differential diagnosis. We present the case of a 58-year-old male who developed nephritis and pericardial effusion with tamponade physiology. In the following, we discuss the differential diagnosis for concomitant nephritis and pericarditis and discuss the work-up performed on our patient. We also review the epidemiology of postinfectious glomerulonephritis in adults and describe previous cases of Streptococcus pyogenes pericarditis in the literature.Entities:
