Abstract
The development of child and adolescent psychiatry took different pathways in East and West Germany after World War II. In East Germany, child and adolescent psychiatry put more emphasis on neurology as it was influenced by the foundation of the first chair and care unit in Rostock. Prof. Göllnitz, who held the chair for many years, established child and adolescent neuropsychiatry as a subject in its own right in research and health care and helped promoting it at other universities and medical academies. © Georg Thieme Verlag KG Stuttgart · New York.Entities:
