Abstract
Science is international by nature. Scientific exchange and international mobility are essential for training young scientists in general, and international collaboration has been directly linked to high-quality science and innovation. In this article, we present evidence showing that international mobility has a direct and beneficial impact on scientific discovery, career development and cultural maturity, especially for students and young scientists. © FEMS 2016.
