Abstract
We assessed agreement between the crystal violet binding assay and the XTT assay in the classification of biofilm production in 492 Staphylococcus aureus strains from bacteremic patients. We found that the overall correlation between the procedures was 46.5%. Biomass production and metabolic activity must be assessed simultaneously. Copyright ÂEntities:
