Sir,We thank Murlimanju et al.1 showing keen interest in our editorial titled “What is indexing?2 The authors have very truly warned about predatory journals. Yes, we do agree, young and inexperienced researchers are attracted toward these predatory journals and publishers who are considered to be dishonest and do not fulfill the process of editing, i.e., peer reviewing. Journals have been termed “predatory” when they lack sound peer review practices and do not follow the publication ethics.3 Beall's list4 exposes such predatory practices and includes criteria and a list of journal and publishers that fit the criteria of the predatory journal. Hence, our sincere advise to learned authors is that one should beware of using 3rd party services or using service providers to publish their original research. Before selecting a journal, he/she should be aware that the journal follows genuine peer review practices, and its indexing is proper.
