Abstract
Massive pneumoperitoneum developed 3 days after placement of an automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator in a 75-year-old man. A subsequent computed tomographic examination revealed generator wires passing through the subxiphoid colon. Partial colectomy was performed, the generator was removed, and the wires were moved.
