We would like to congratulate Drs. Zullo et al on their publication reporting a rare case of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) with esophageal involvement [1]. We strongly agree with them that, while gastrointestinal tract involvement is quite common in MCL, the esophagus is an extremely rare location. Zullo et al mentioned in their paper that the endoscopic features of MCL with esophageal involvement have been reported in only three cases, according to their knowledge. However, for the completeness of their publication we would like to mention our MCL case with esophageal involvement, published earlier than the two other cases and probably the first published endoscopic image of MCL with esophageal involvement [2]. Our image included in that report was consistent with the characteristic multiple whitish polypoid lesions reported by the later publications.
