High prostatic fascia release or standard nerve sparing? A viewpoint from Columbia University Medical Center.

Abstract

The technique of lateral prostatic fascia nerve sparing has shown improved recovery of sexual function results after robotic prostatectomy. Using strict criteria to identify men with low-risk prostate cancer, this form of nerve preservation can be safely performed without compromising cancer control.
