[Stable flexible nailing of fractures of both bones of the forearm in children].

M Ponet1, R Jawish.

Abstract

Flexible medullary nailing is a method of choice for fractures of the forearm in children. This technique is indicated when orthopaedic treatment has fallen, or for instable fracture. We reported forty four fractures of the forearm concerning children with an age ranged from 2.5 to 15 years. We obtained 38 good results (83.3%) and 6 complications (14.7%) which were related to growth disturbance, leading to limitation of pronation; in one case we obtained a rupture of extensor pollicis longus.
