Abstract
The Spearman-Brown Prophesy formula, derived from psychometrics, may be used in anthropometric studies to describe the relationship between the intraclass reliability coefficient for a single measurement and the reliability resulting from the mean of replicate measurements. This theory may be applied to determine expected reliabilities of anthropometric protocols using replicate measurements and to determine the numbers of replicate measurements necessary to achieve desired levels of reliability.Mesh:
