Effects of glutathione isopropyl ester on glutathione concentration in ischemic rat brain.

K Noguchi1, S Higuchi, H Matsui.

Abstract

Glutathione concentrations in ischemic rat brain induced by ligation of bilateral carotid arteries were decreased significantly. Intraperitoneal administration of glutathione isopropyl ester maintained glutathione concentrations in ischemic rat brain at the normal level, while glutathione manifested no effects.
