Abstract
OBJECTIVE: A predictive role of serum Pentraxin 3 (PTX3) for short-term adverse cardiovascular events including mortality in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) was reported in recent studies. The aim of the study was to investigate long-term prognostic significance of serum PTX3 in an AMI with 5-year follow-up period in this study.Entities:

AMI - acute myocardial infarction; BMI - body mass index; DBP - diastolic blood pressure; DM - diabetes mellitus; SBP - systolic blood pressure. Data were compared between two groups; if they are normally distributed; Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests were used for continuous non-normally distributed variables, and student t-test for continuous normally distributed variables. Categorical variables were compared by the likelihood ratio chi-square test
