BACKGROUND: Based on age of presentation, celiac disease (CD) is categorised as pediatric CD and adult CD. It however remains unclear if these are genetically and/or phenotypically distinct disorders or just different spectrum of the same disease. Prediction of DQ genotypes were done based on known tag SNPs originally identified in Europeans. One individual from each group was dropped from the study as genotype information for all tag SNPs were not present in the final dataset for these two individuals
