Abstract
Two novel meroterpenoids, rhodomentones A and B bearing an unprecedented caryophyllene-conjugated oxa-spiro[5.8] tetradecadiene skeleton, were isolated from the leaves of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa. Their structures with unique NMR characteristics were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, quantum molecular calculation, chemical transformation as well as total synthesis.Entities:
