Figure 1Multivariate analysis was conducted on the basis of results of univariate analysis. As shown in table 3, age >60 years, female sex, pulse rate >90/min and neutrophil percentage >80% were independent risk factors for positive blood culture results. The area under the receiver operating characteristics curve of this model was 0.796.
