Abstract
Myositis ossificans progressiva most commonly effects adolescents and young adults. It is characterized by progressive calcification of muscle and frequently follows trauma. Bone imaging may be helpful in determining the full extent of the disease process and may be more accurate than conventional radiographs. Bone imaging is able to detect lesions before they can be observed with radiographs. In addition, radiographs may tend to underestimate the severity of the disease.Entities:
