Measuring diagnostic consistency.

J S Bulman, J F Osborn.

Abstract

Statistical analysis can only be as reliable as the data analysed. In clinical or epidemiological dental research, variations in the interpretation of diagnostic criteria can have a marked effect on the reliability of subsequent analysis. Methods of measuring examiner consistency in these circumstances are discussed, and illustrative examples provided.
