Abstract
BACKGROUND: Research has suggested a significant burden for patients with asthma-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) overlap syndrome (ACOS). However, few studies have studied this population in the People's Republic of China, a region in the midst of rapid epidemiological change with respect to respiratory disease. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of ACOS and its association with patient outcomes in urban China.Entities:

Notes: Letters beside values indicate which groups are significantly different from this value using a post hoc comparison (with a Tukey adjustment). For example, the letters “CD” below a value would suggest the mean/percentage is significantly different from the COPD only (group C) and the control (group D) groups.
The adjusted CCI removes COPD conditions from the calculation. The P-values in this table are based on a chi-square test (for categorical variables) or a one-way ANOVA test (for continuous variables).
