Abstract
OBJECTIVES: Few studies have investigated the complex relationship among asthma control, sleep problems, and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) among children with asthma. This study aimed to test the longitudinal effect of asthma control status on asthma-specific HRQOL through the mechanism of nighttime sleep quality and daytime sleepiness.Entities:

Figure 1A framework depicts the associations among asthma control status, sleep problems, and HRQOL at within-subject and between-subject levels
Socio-demographics include the child’s age, gender, race/ethnicity, number of chronic conditions, and the parent’s age, education background and marital status. Index: i indicates the time points (i=1, 2, …, 4), and j indicates the study subjects (j=1, 2, …, 229)
