Abstract
A patient who had deep venous obstruction of the left lower limb was shown to have thrombosis of a venous aneurysm of the left common iliac vein that measured 8.8 cm at the largest diameter. The aneurysm was suspected on the basis of preoperative noninvasive testing. Findings at surgery suggested the left iliac vein was being compressed by the right iliac artery. The aneurysm was resected and prosthetic graft material was used to reconstruct the venous system. A 22-month follow-up is recorded. Literature pertaining to the case is discussed.Entities:
