We appreciate the interest shown in our article1. The true incidence or prevalence of DID in our country is not known and the same is also not reflected in our study. In the commentary by Adithan et al2 on our article, it has already been pointed out our study1 has an overlap between adverse drug reactions (ADR) and DID, yet it flags an important issue which needs attention by the health care providers. We have already admitted in the limitations of the study that true prevalence of the DIDs cannot be computed due to voluntary/spontaneous nature of reporting which is an inherent part of standard operating procedure of Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). Thus, comparison between any large epidemiological studies shall not be appropriate but only can tell us that the said problem is existing in this part of the country and needs attention of the Programme and health care providers.
