Abstract
Sigmoid volvulus commonly presents with signs of bowel obstruction. In the absence of an exact preoperative diagnosis, these patients have to undergo urgent surgery. We report a case of sigmoid volvulus diagnosed radiologically and managed by endoscopic derotation. When the cause of the obstruction is known to be due to sigmoid volvulus, surgery can be avoided by careful endoscopic derotation of the sigmoid colon.Entities:
