Abstract
The Ilizarov technique with a circular external fixator was used in the treatment of infected tibial nonunions. This is a report on 13 patients with a 2-year follow up after removal of the external fixation. There was no debridement of the site of nonunion performed. Union was obtained in all cases. There was no recurrence of infection at follow up. The Ilizarov technique provides the orthopedic surgeon with another alternative in the treatment of complicated tibial nonunions and their associated problems.Entities:
