Abstract
Diagnostic peritoneal lavage (DPL) is a well-established procedure for evaluating the patient suspected of having intraabdominal injury secondary to blunt abdominal trauma. Its accuracy and safety have been clearly documented; however, the procedure does have the potential for morbidity. This paper reports on the occurrence of a rare complication, dehiscence with evisceration, and reviews the literature regarding complications of DPL.Entities:
