Abstract
PURPOSE: Mumps meningitis is a common complication of mumps infection; however, information on mumps meningitis in the postvaccine era is limited. The purpose of the present study was to determine factors associated with mumps meningitis and to discuss the effect of vaccination on this disease.Entities:

Fig. 1Age distributions of groups with and without meningitis. Overall mumps infection was most prevalent around the age of 15 years, which was consistent with the peak prevalence of mumps meningitis. Patients <12 years of age accounted for 57% of the nonmeningitis group, whereas there were no patients in this age category in the meningitis group.
