Abstract
A severe carbamazepine intoxication in a 45-year-old woman was treated with combined hemodialysis/hemoperfusion. The ingested dose was estimated as 4-36 g. Serum carbamazepine levels were determined by fluorescence polarization immunoassay. The detoxication was performed 18 h after admission and resulted in a 50 percent reduction in serum drug levels accompanied by rapid clinical improvement.Entities:
