Abstract
Posterior dislocation of an intraocular lens in the vitreous cavity is an uncommon but serious complication of the standard extracapsular surgical technique for cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation. Described herein is a new technique for managing this complication by using vitrectomy techniques and scleral fixation sutures of the intraocular lens. This technique allows permanent, controllable relocation of the intraocular lens and avoids trauma to the iris and cornea that previous techniques for intraocular lens repositioning may induce.Entities:
