Abstract
In the present paper the clinical value of scrotal ultrasonography is evaluated on the basis of a literature review and own results of 400 sonographic examinations in 320 patients. The frequency of false-positive findings was only 5% representing a high sensitivity of this method. However, the specificity of ultrasonography is lower since a distinction between benign and malignant lesions is impossible. Scrotal ultrasonography is of particular value in vague palpatory findings and should be used more generous.Entities:
