Abstract
Diabetes in pregnancy is associated with significant and sometimes devastating acute complications. It is important that all health care providers are aware of possible complications at each stage of pregnancy so that we can prevent these complications whenever possible and reduce morbidity when they do occur. Most complications associated with diabetes during pregnancy have reduced incidence when blood glucose and blood pressure are optimally controlled. Yet, it is always best to try to optimize diabetes and any comorbidities prior to conception.Entities:
