Abstract
The principles of antimicrobial therapy of lower respiratory tract infections are discussed. Making a differential diagnosis of possible causative agents of an infection is the corner-stone of rational antimicrobial therapy. Antimicrobial therapy should only be instituted when the patient will benefit from the treatment, which can not be taken for granted in the case of bronchitis.Entities:
