Acute suppurative thyroiditis secondary to urinary tract infection by E. coli: a rare clinical scenario.

Abstract

A 60-year-old woman with diabetes and symptomatic urinary tract infection presented to us with a painful neck swelling for 2 weeks. We discuss diagnostic and management issues in acute suppurative thyroiditis caused by Escherichia coli. 2016 BMJ Publishing Group Ltd.
