Abstract
We have described a patient in whom an erosive arthropathy of the right wrist developed three years after insertion of a silicone lunate prosthesis. The clinical picture of silicone synovitis is being recognized more frequently after bone and joint implants, but the diagnosis may be delayed because initial suspicions focus on infection or crystal-induced arthropathy rather than foreign body reaction.Entities:
