Abstract
Spinel structured LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 based compounds are promising cathode materials for high power lithium ion batteries, owing to its superior 4.7 V discharge plateau and large reversible capacity. However, its pace of commercialization is hindered by limited rate capability, poor cyclic performance at high current densities and instability with electrolyte. Extensive works have been devoted to tackle these difficulties. This paper presents a review of challenges and recent developments of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 based compounds.Entities:
