Abstract
Ward rounds are the pivot point of the daily routine on internal medicine wards. They are crucial to the interprofessional team to inform the patient and his relatives, to gather new information as well as to plan further diagnostics, evaluation of prognosis and therapy. Furthermore, medical rounds provide an important setting for situational learning and reflection of alternatives of action in terms of evidence based medicine. The war round is a vital component of the patient-doctor communication and contributes strongly to patient safety. © Georg Thieme Verlag KG Stuttgart · New York.Entities:
