Abstract
Avulsion fractures of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) at the tibial insertion site are extremely rare in children. Because the avulsed osteochondral fragments can be poorly seen on plain radiographs, correct diagnosis is often delayed. Delayed diagnosis of PCL avulsion fracture can lead to difficulties in treatment due to secondary changes in the osteochondral fragment and ligament substance. Three cases of tibial avulsion fractures of the PCL in children surgically treated in a single medical centre are reported in the present study. Level of evidence V.Entities:
