Selective erythroid aplasia during therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

S E Sallan, G R Buchanan.

Abstract

Selective erythroid aplasia occured in two children receiving chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The aplasia was reversible on cessation of therapy in one patient, and the other child remains transfusion-dependent on chemotherapy. Possible causes of pure red cell aplasia are discussed.
