The correlation between positive and negative HPV gene sequence identification and HPV E7 protein expression in coronary smooth muscle cells is significant (cc = 0.503, .
Pos = positive, Neg = negative, HPV E7 by intensity of staining 0, +, ++, +++. There was insufficient material for HPV sequencing in two positive samples (the amplified PCR products were visualized on a 1.5% agarose gels).
