Abstract
Traumatic anterior open dislocation of hip is rare in children and prone to be associated with injuries, extensive soft tissue damage and avascular necrosis of the femoral head. We report a hitherto undescribed anterior open dislocation of the hip joint in a 14-year-old boy. The dislocated head finished up in the contralateral obturator foramen. The management of the case and its relation to published classifications of anterior hip dislocations in children are discussed.Entities:
