Abstract
The fidelity of the intestinal barrier is critical to maintaining a healthy relationship between the immune system and the microbiota. Levy et al. and Nowarski et al. reveal how microbiota-derived metabolites modulate the activation of the inflammasome to influence the expression of the cytokine IL-18, intestinal barrier function, and intestinal inflammation.Entities:
