Abstract
The examination of the shoulder for conditions involving the biceps tendon continues to be challenging. Numerous examination tests for biceps and superior labrum anterior and posterior (SLAP) lesions have been scientifically evaluated. This section reports on how to perform these tests and summarizes the clinical utility of the tests. Many of the tests for the examination of the biceps and for SLAP lesions do not have high sensitivity and specificity, which limits their usefulness. Although the dynamic shear test has promise for making the diagnosis of SLAP lesions, the studies reporting its clinical utility are disparate.Entities:
