Abstract
Novel functional and metabolic MRI imaging provides the ability to analyze tumor tissue properties including tumor vasculature, vascular permeability, tumor cellularity, hypoxia, and tumor proliferation. Stereotactic radiosurgery involves the delivery of a very precise, focal dose of radiation to a target. Recent advances in MR imaging have the potential to improve accuracy for target volume delineation and to potentially improve outcome. Novel MR imaging techniques may also be used in subsequent post-treatment follow-up to distinguish between tumor recurrences versus non-neoplastic treatment-related changes. In this paper, we address multiparametric MR imaging and cerebral angiography as tools to reduce toxicity.Entities:
